In this Halloween favorite we have Daffy Duck and his little nephew (essentially Sylvester Junior in a duck suit dressed as a witch...if you follow that) meet Witch Hazel, via some nicely crafted reused animation from earlier Chuck Jones cartoons. Daffy's nephew goes trick or treating on Halloween, gets scared by Hazel, and it's up to Daffy to convince him that she's just a "sweet old lady trying to get along". But before Daffy gets to the witch's house to check things out, she decides to take a vacation, and when Speedy Gonzales emerges from his hole in the wall to ask for some cheese, she turns him into a clone of herself! "Hazel" (In Speedy's Mexican accent) greets Daffy at the door, and decides to serve him some tea...but grabs the witch's brew instead and turns Daffy into the creature from "Duck Amuck"(1953). the real Hazel gets back and sees what Speedy has done to Daffy, and immediately changes Daffy and Speedy back to normal. As Daffy walks home, he all of a sudden doesn't feel like himself. Okay, so the re-used animation is cheating…but this is a Halloween classic just the same. Produced by DePatie-Freleng, it is one of the most unusual cartoons DePatie- Freleng did.
