The Matthew Hunter's Unofficial Looney Tunes Page Vault
Ever wonder what happens to all the logos and things that I've used on my site? Those of you who have followed it for a long time will probably remember the geocities-hosted site, the short-lived Prodigy site, and of course this Toon Zone version. But over time I've saved some of the older files, and as you can see from the early examples there has been a lot of improvement since 1999, when this site begins. So in honor of the site's nearly fifth year online, here's a look at some of the old junk I saved..............
The pre-Toon Zone days
I recently discovered that the old file directory I used at my previous site home, Geocities, was still over there, and before I cleaned it out, I saved some of this site's early page logos. Most of these have not been displayed since their initial use. I cannot date most of them, but on some I can make an educated guess. Here, if anyone cares, is a gallery of old MHULTP logo art, displayed together for the first time. There were dozens more of these, but this is all I found.
Here's the very first logo I ever used for the page...when I started this site in the summer of 1999, just after my freshman year in high school. This one has been used a couple of times .
Check out this gigantic image: Surely I didn't use this for a page logo, it would've taken forever to load. And I had to shrink it just to include it here...it's still big. This one features a whole bunch of characters.
Here's another really early one. There appear to have been 2 versions. Maybe I used one and not the other?
Here's an interesting one...a multicolored "Looney Tunes" logo and Daffy and Sylvester fighting with each other. I'm guessing the characters came from a scene in the 1980's TV cartoon "The Yolk's On You".
This one is still in use to this day on the Speedy page...but it originated long before that. This is going back a few years, I believe this came about in late 1999.
Ouch. Also still used on the Wile E. Coyote page, this scene depicts Wile E. trying to stop the Road Runner with a steel plate...it didn't.
This one's clipart came from the cover of a Road Runner and Coyote video. It turned out handsomely...I may resurrect this one.
This is one of two Bugs Bunny Easter logos I drew myself. I draw much better than that now, but still, not bad:
Remember back in 2000 when ABC dropped "The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show"? Here's a logo commemorating the demise of Bugs Bunny on network television.
Here's the other Bugs Easter logo, this was probably from 2001...couldn't have been too long before the short-lived Prodigy site and the move to Toon Zone.
Here is a series of later logos I went through using full cartoon scenes, in some cases cutting and pasting characters to other scenes. The problem with these was their size, I continued the trend through Prodigy and here for a while, until they started getting so big in file size that they had to be given the axe.
Here's the old background from the site...
Merrie Messages: Unlike the others, these images were never used on actual pages. Merrie Messages was a message forum I used before the site came to TZ, and if I remember correctly I went through about three free bulletin board providers, and all three of them went belly-up within a year. Probably because they didn't make any money off those darned popup ads. Now, I just use the Termite Terrace Trading Post...but consider these the last remnant of the TTTP's lost, prankster-plagued and ill-fated spinoff.
At one point I tried my hand at making banners. Here are two of the 3 or 4 that I made...I don't even remember when now. The Speedy one turned out well...if anyone wants it, just link it to this site's main page and use it on your own page.

2001-present
A lot of this stuff is still in use somewhere on the site, but all of this was originally on the main page.Included here are logos, gags and original artwork that I've made and used over time.
